Style Cure Day 8: Paint Planning

Good news! Only a couple more days until I have access to the apartment, and then I'll be able to really dig into these challenges.

Today's cure was to decide on paint colors for the walls and decor in the room. I know the room's walls are a medium cocoa color -- sort of that weird mousy brown that's not quite warm and not quite cool. The futon is a bright red, and the shelving we have is black and white. If the red completely clashes with the walls, I guess I'll have to look for a new cover -- or maybe a top sheet or blanket.

One thing I would like to paint (and I'm going to employ J's artistic wizardry for this) is the white leftover cabinet I picked up two years ago. This will first require getting the mysterious sticky goo that's currently hiding under a few layers of newspaper (I have no idea what this is or how to get it off...), then probably some light sanding and priming. I'm not sure what to do in the way of color. I'd like it to be bright or at least unexpected.

More on this to come!
